Marc Johns is one of my favorite ironic artists. He is hip. Witty. Obvious. And downright funny. . I think his work speaks for itself... http://www.marcjohns.com/
![]() A piece by Andy Goldsworthy. Maple patch difficult yellow to orange hard to find wind, sun leaves drying out and blowing away With late-summer and early-all simultaneously lingering in the air, desperately fighting to vanquish the other, I have been recently inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy. Not to mention the Kindergarden class I volunteer with is doing an outdoor project inspired by his work. I find myself in awe of his diliegence, patience and recurring peace with nature in creating his work. His pieces are both complex and yet simplistic. Dynamic, yet familiar. Astounding and yet recognizable. His approach to these opposing elements mirrors the same tension between this current tides of summer and fall. for further inspirations: http://www.goldsworthy.cc.gla.ac.uk/ Hey this is the first post on my new artfolio website. I just want to explain why I am creating this in the first place. As a newly declared BA in Art, concentration in Art Education, (phew, say that three times fastl...) I thought a website would be a great platform to collect, catalogue and explore my newly growing portfolio of art work and inspirations as an artist. Further, I think that the format of a website/blog is a great, friendly way to expand my network of possible peers, co-workers, and art-lovers. So, welcome. Stay awhile. Enjoy some tea.
